Without you, there is no tomorrow for these deserving pets.”
DETAILS:
Below are some talking points and additional facts about BISSELL Pet Foundation and WFAHS.
BISSELL Pet Foundation was founded in 2011 by Cathy Bissell.
“Empty the Shelters” has helped 83,055 pets find homes across the country and in Canada since its inception in 2016.
“Empty the Shelters” provides reduced adoption fees at shelters, typically ranging from $0 to $25 per animal adoption.
Our nation’s shelters are facing an overcrowding crisis. Please consider fostering or donating if you unable to add a pet to your family.
Our Mission at WFAHS is to provide a safe, healthy, and caring environment for the animals under our care as we search for their original owners or a caring adoptive home. Our mission is also to help reduce the pet population in our parish.
Our animal shelter was founded in August 2012. A community member and animal lover, James "Bo" Bryant left a legacy when he donated the funds to begin the construction of our shelter. Before 2012, animal control was operated with a few holding kennels behind the parish jail. Now, we are able to operate a full-time animal shelter thanks to Mr. Bryant's generosity and love of animals. Our parish has moved from saving less than 10% of the parish's stray population, to now saving more than 95% of the stray population per year!
West Feliciana Animal Humane Society is proud to partner with the following organizations, allowing us to work together to educate our community and to reduce the stray population.
